Saudi Arabia has made it to the top five globally and regionally in terms of growth in the artificial intelligence sector, according to the latest Global AI Index. This is what to know about AI growth in Saudi Arabia.
The ranking marks a national and regional milestone for AI growth in Saudi Arabia, showcasing the Kingdom’s rapid progress in AI and the strength of the long-term development strategies under Saudi Vision 2030.
The Kingdom’s rise in the index comes after a series of national initiatives led by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), which have contributed significantly to Saudi Arabia’s global standing in the field.
Through the SAMAI initiatives, more than one million Saudi men and women have been trained in data and AI skills, one of the largest public AI training programs in the world.

Just this year, Saudi Arabia announced its very own AI company, HUMAIN. The company enables the development and delivery of AI solutions locally, regionally, and globally. The AI powerhouse aspires to both enhance human capabilities and support the unlocking of new possibilities through the digital economy.
The country has even introduced AI as a subject in schools when it launched a new high school course titled “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” in an effort to localise AI education and build a digitally skilled generation.
