Ribs, wings, brisket, and burgers are on the menu…

Oak Smokehouse from Khobar has just opened a branch in Riyadh. Think big Southern-style barbeque with endless amounts of meat, Saudi-style.

True to its name, the key ingredient to this authentic barbeque joint is oak. Using a secret blend of seasonings and smoked with oak wood, Oak Smokehouse goes the extra mile to slow cook its meats for that tender and robust glory.

Serving only quality and responsibly sourced imported meats, the menu features a mouth-watering variety of slow-cooked meats, nachos, burgers, chicken wings, sandwiches, and desserts.

Order your meats by the pound, and they’ll serve you glistening mounds of barbequed smoked meats onto paper-lined baking trays.

Get a taste of its signature brisket served with homemade pickles and sauce. Smoked over oak wood for 18 hours, it has just enough fat to imbue proper flavour that will have your taste buds cheering.

Other favourites include the 10-hour smoked short ribs – the tasty meat carrying a hint of smoke – and the ‘Big Horn’ wood-flamed grilled quarter pounder burger topped with brisket, cheese, onion rings and their homemade bbq sauce.

If you want to go big on hearty grub, check out the sharing platter, which entails short rib, brisket and half of a smoked chicken served with a side dish of your choice.

As at most barbeque joints, the sides tend to take a backseat to the meat. However, the brisket mac and cheese, made with a special mix of four types of cheese, is pretty tasty. The lush, creamy sauce clings to pasta that still has some bite.

Better yet are the ‘Oak Bites’, homemade fried pickles with chipotle mayo dip, or the grilled corn rubbed with Mexican spices. You can also complement your meaty meal with the oak tahini salad or smoked carrot kale salad, which is nothing to scoff at either.

At Oak Smokehouse, it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll leave this place stuffed to the core, and yet it will keep you coming back for more.

It’s not exactly your fancy stop, but is bbq ever fancy? For premium cuts, we think it’s worth a visit.
