DIY retail giant B&Q is now open in Riyadh

This is the first B&Q store in Saudi Arabia…

Want to know where to top up your toolbox? B&Q, the UK’s leading home improvement retailer, has brought its DIY expertise to Riyadh for the first time.

Drive around the carpark next to Rimal Centre Mall, and you probably won’t miss the famously orange brand.

For the uninitiated, B&Q is akin to SACO here, or ACE Hardware and Homeworks stores from the UAE.

So, what can we expect from the first B&Q store in the Kingdom?

Those who could recall Homeworks’ Eastern Ring Road branch in Riyadh before it shut down, it’s the same spot in which B&Q has occupied.

Shoppers will be greeted with rows of serious-looking toolboxes and display tables featuring the latest thinking in power tools.

The new store stocks a full range of home improvement necessities like paint, decorating tools, décor and lighting, gardening products, houseplants, hardware and electrical and plumbing products.

Brands on offer include owner Kingfisher’s portfolio, such as Erbauer, Magnusson and GoodHome, alongside locally and internationally sourced products. What’s more, about half of the range are exclusive and new to Saudi Arabia.

It also features a brand-new showroom with design solutions, providing customers with plenty of inspiration and expert advice for home improvement projects.

Brought to you by the same group behind ACE and Homeworks, B&Q is entirely operated and staffed by the Al-Futtaim Group.

The Al-Futtaim Group operates more than 200 brands across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Its franchise partners include Marks & Spencer and IKEA.

There will also be another B&Q store along King Abdullah Branch Road on King Fahd in Riyadh, which is slated to open this year.
