The coolest things to check out at Saudi Design Festival

Running for three weeks, Saudi Design Festival will transform Diriyah’s JAX District into a backdrop for promoting the Kingdom’s top creative talent…

A brand new art and design festival is shining the spotlight on regional talent, as the first ever Saudi Design Festival kicks off in Diriyah’s JAX District this week.

Founded by Princess Nourah El Faisal, the three-week festival will take place until January 29, and is a new backdrop for regional artists and designers to showcase their talents on a stage of this scale, with a wealth of exhibitions and events taking place throughout Saudi Design Festival.

Among the highlights, abstract artist Lulwah AlHomoud curates a landmark ‘Type It’ exhibition, while there will also be impressive curated spaces by Jeddah-born Bricklab and a pop-up from AlMashtal Creative Space, featuring a series of workshops, a networking area, artistic visuals, and a shop filled with products from local artists.

Elsewhere at Saudi Design Festival, visitors can shop from a range of homegrown brands at the Design Market, including Claw Socks; Social Bandage, an eco-friendly concept store; Washi Bloom, which presents a collection of luxurious, and long-lasting preserved flowers; and art kits for children inspired by well known artists created by Blank Canvas.
