Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai celebrates three million visits
Another major milestone achieved…
Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai – one of the six-month event’s biggest hit experiences – does not only capture the hearts and minds of visitors with its bold, cantilevered monolith of a structure, but also its immersive journey inside that leaves one in awe.
It is no surprise then that the second largest pavilion has welcomed three million visitors since opening, a testament to growing interest in the Kingdom.
To mark the occasion, a special evening ceremony was held at the Open Square area, with a giant digital screen displaying the countdown of the three millionth person walking through the pavilion. This was followed by a reception at the pavilion’s Palm Garden.
The Kingdom’s pavilion draws about a quarter of all Expo 2020 Dubai visits, totalling just over 12 million.
Saudi Arabia’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai is anchored by four key pillars: People, Opportunity, Heritage, and Nature – themes that are highly present throughout the pavilion journey.
Located at the Opportunity District of Expo 2020 Dubai, the record-breaking structure features an innovative and sustainable design that is LEED Platinum Certified and fuses architecture with highly immersive digital technology.
Visitors can participate in various activities and events at the different areas of the state-of-the-art pavilion, including doing Saudi crafts and sustainability workshops for the entire family, watching Saudi folklore performances and other mesmerising shows in the Open Square, or savouring authentic Saudi flavours at Sard Café, which offers food, coffee and desserts from the Kingdom’s 13 regions.
