Los Bandidos restaurant, a Puerto Banús institution, opens in Riyadh

Los Bandidos offers innovative classic cuisine, with French and Scandinavian touches, in elegant casual surroundings…

Hailing all the way from Puerto Banús in Marbella, Spain, Los Bandidos opens its doors in Riyadh.

This upscale restaurant is located within Riyadh’s Midtown complex and offers classic French cuisine with Scandinavian influences.

Founded by Jill Lindberg, the restaurant boasts 36 years of history in its emblematic venue in Puerto Banús and is famed for staying true to its classic international gastronomy.

Los Bandidos Riyadh interior

Similar to its original location, the interiors at Los Bandidos Riyadh reflect the same charming atmosphere with its hanging garden. The sophisticated leather sofa and a polished marble bar countertop radiate luxury, while the dark wood tones and a brick wall filled with old photographs create a warm and friendly ambience.

The only difference is that there’s adequate space between the white-clothed tables here compared to the closely packed tables in Puerto Banús.

The menu at Los Bandidos is ample, boasting the finest wild fish, tender meat dishes and heavenly desserts. Among the highlights are prawns pil pil and cream of lobster for starters, and the lamb chops with crispy garlic or the spaghettini with king prawns in chilli garlic herb sauce for your mains.

Other interesting dishes include the veal tenderloin stuffed with cheese and Los Bandidos sole in creamy white wine sauce with lobster medallion, prawns and potatoes. The warm apple tart with vanilla ice cream is highly recommended to round off a meal.

What’s in a name?

If you’re wondering what’s behind the restaurant’s catchy name, Los Bandidos was inspired by the ‘gang’ of Jill’s then-husband, Kurt, who played golf and partied alongside some of the world’s most famous stars and celebrities, including Sean Connery and Frank Sinatra.

Kurt has since passed, but his name lives on in one of the dishes: Kurt’s Favourite, comprising beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce and a gratin of fettucine on the side.

The next time we’re visiting Los Bandidos, that will be at the top of our to-order list.
