Luxe Mondrian hotel to open in Riyadh

Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga will be Saudi Arabia’s first Mondrian property…

Mondrian Hotels are known for their dazzling design and local-first approach, and the brand’s first Saudi Arabian hotel is coming to Riyadh. Although we’ll have to wait until 2026 to check-in to Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga, it’s set to be worth the wait, with a design-centric collection of rooms and suites, and mouthwatering selection of restaurants.

Parent company Ennismore has announced that the 200 key property will be made up of 130 standard rooms and a further 70 serviced apartments that will range in size from one to three bedrooms. Ennismore’s in-house F&B concept studio, Carte Blanched, will put their creative mastery to three innovative restaurants and lounges, that put innovative culinary and mixology at their heart. The wellness area will be given a social edge to allow for Mondrian’s progressive programming, and there will be plenty of events spaces to cater to occasions of all sizes.

As is customary for Mondrian, groundbreaking design will ensure Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga stands out on the city’s hotel scene. Award-winning interior architect Tristan Di Plessis has been tasked with bringing the vision for Mondrian Riyadh to life. But as well as the aesthetic, the property will have a sustainability edge, with a focus on energy savings, water efficiency, reduced carbon emissions and improved indoor air quality.

The property will open as part of the mixed use Al Malga Urban Village in the northern party of Riyadh. This handy location means that hotel guests will also be able to enjoy the array of boutiques, restaurants and entertainment right on their doorstep in the wider development. It will also be at the gateway to the recently announced Mukaab skyscraper, the 400-metre high, cube-shaped attraction at the heart of Riyadh’s Murabba Downtown plan. Other nearby attractions include Boulevard Riyadh, Najd Village, and King Abdullah Financial District.

Riyadh’s new Mondrian property is one of a number of exciting new openings for the brand in the region. Mondrian’s existing portfolio of seven hotels will also be enhanced with new regional additions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the coming years.

SLS Red Sea

Ennismore’s own Saudi portfolio will further be enhanced with the opening of S/O Jeddah this summer, followed by SLS Red Sea next year, and 25hours Trojena in 2026.
