Staycation Review: Mansard Riyadh a Radisson Collection Hotel

The gorgeous Parisian-inspired hotel just celebrated its first anniversary of being open…

The location

Mansard ext

Located in Ar Rabi, about a 20-minute drive from the city centre, Mansard Riyadh a Radisson Collection Hotel is nestled in one of the most chill neighbourhoods in the city.

You can’t get prettier architecture than Mansard Riyadh. The hotel combines gorgeous European designs with incredibly renowned Arabian hospitality just a short distance from the business hub King Abdullah Financial District.

The look-and-feel

Mansard exterior plaza

When you walk into the hotel you’re immediately washed over with a sense of comfort and quiet heightened luxury. Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates Dubai (HBA), the hotel’s European architecture blends seamlessly with contemporary aesthetics, complete with Mansard-style rooftops (for obvious reasons), and the style of the signature Parisian Haussmann style of the mid-1800s making you feel as if you’re walking through the streets of the City of Lights.

And that’s not all. Making your way through the hotel, you’ll get to view gorgeous contemporary art by local artist Mishal Saad Alzaid tucked into every corridor, apartment, and villa.

The rooms

Mansard duplex villa 2

There are 191 rooms, suites, serviced apartments, and duplex villas – each exquisitely furnished and decorated to the highest standards with high-quality fabrics, modern furnishings, and marble and hardwood floors.

The hotel boasts an environment that is perfect for both long-term and short-term stays. Take your pick between the homey comfort of the three-bedroom penthouse suite consisting of a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, three spacious bedrooms, a living area, a kitchen, and a dining room that seats up to eight guests. Or the two-floor duplex villas boast up to 230 square meters with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, powder room, and dining room with a table for six.

The things all the spaces have in common are the stunning modern architecture, blue-toned colour palette, and our personal favourite, all marble all over.

Elements of the hotel’s French-inspired theme continue to be reflected in the names of the villas, such as Vendôme, Concorde, and Opéra, to reference the grand squares of Paris.

The facilities

Mansard Riyadh is fully equipped with a massive fitness centre which is full of all sorts of workout equipment and can be used by both men and women. The gym also opens up to multiple relaxation rooms like a sauna room, a vapour one and more. There’s also a men-only indoor pool and jacuzzi you can take a breather at. The non-smoking property five-star property also has free private parking, a terrace, an executive business lounge, plus meeting rooms too.

The food

Sadelle's dining area

You’ve got two of the best choices for food in all of Riyadh at your doorstep when you stay at Mansard. Home to one of the prettiest restaurants in the city, Sadelle’s, the all-day dining venue is definitely one of our faves here at What’s On. The space is large and airy, with high ceilings and lots of natural light to help you feel perky before you’ve even got your menu in front of you. Breakfast at Sadelle’s is a chic experience, one that’s got Riyadh diners coming back for more every time. On the menu, you’ll find all kinds of eggs, fish towers, avocado toast, blueberry pancakes, French toast, crepes with ricotta, grilled halloumi, and caviar service. And starting 11am, the venue also serves New York favourites, such as pizza, triple-decker sandwiches, meticulously chopped salads, and expertly prepared meat and fish.

But if you’re looking for something more fancy, L’ami Dave is where you’ll find fine dining done right. Playing into the Parisian-themed property, the restaurant pays homage to luxurious fine dining in France. Walk in and you’ll feel immediately transported back to the peak of old Hollywood glamour. Take a seat and you’ll see the venue was made to be on film, with high ceilings, rich brocade upholstery and delicate gold accents, it would be a crime to not take a lot of photos here.  The extensive menu boasts a wealth of updated French classics like escargots de Bourgogne, carpaccio de boeuf with black truffle, and a luxurious Cote de Boeuf.

The hotel will also soon be home to a well-loved Italian-American New York hotspot, Carbone Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick.

The room rates

A night in the collection room costs SAR1,080 for Flexible members and SAR1,200 for the regular rate, while the two-bedroom penthouse would cost SAR9,200.
