Saudi Arabia introduces e-visa waiver for UK Nationals
It will allow stays of up to six months for business, education or tourism…
Travelling to Saudi Arabia keeps getting easier, and now the Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced a new electronic visa waiver for nationals of the UK and Ireland.
The new e-visa waiver comes as Saudi Arabia continues to make obtaining visas easier as the continues to open up for business and tourism.
As reported by The National, British and Irish nationals can now obtain a single-entry e-visa to visit Saudi Arabia, whether they’re travelling for business, educational studies, or tourism. The single-entry Saudi e-visa is valid for stays of up to 6 months.
Applications for the e-visa waiver can be done at least two days prior to travel, but within 90 days, with approved visas returned within 24 hours. To apply, nationals of the UK and Ireland should complete the application form on the Unified National Visa Platform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
The e-visa waiver launch comes a month after Saudi Arabia unveiled plans to introduce a new instant e-visa for travellers from the UK, US and Schengen countries. Applying to those with visas of these countries as well as permanent residents, it was first announced via the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). At the time of announcement, the SPA reported that the new instant e-visa is set to further ease travel restrictions to the Kingdom.
Travelers can apply for an instant e-visa through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
