The AlUla Dates Festival is back every weekend
The festival will celebrate all things about Saudi culture…
AlUla’s patented event season is officially here, with the Ancient Kingdoms Festival, Winter at Tantora, and AlUla Wellness Festival all coming back before the end of the year, it’s safe to say you need to check out the city sometime. And now, a celebration of Saudi culture will be taking place at the AlUla Dates Festival.
Happening every weekend from Friday October 13 until Saturday November 11, the festival will be celebrating palm cultivation in AlUla which flourished in the first millennium BC back when Dadaanites and Lihyanites civilisations settled in the region.

The festival aims to showcase a variety of dates and teach people about the importance of date palms in AlUla’s history including AlUla’s most famous date variety, Barni.
AlUla Dates Festival also plays an active role in supporting commercial opportunities for farmers and buyers by helping increase the volume of dates sold each year.

During the evening, the major festival brings together local artisans, cuisine, and handicrafts with entertainment and activities to celebrate with family and friends.

Other things coming to AlUla
Major events coming to AlUla also include multiple equestrian events. These include the luxurious Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo and the fifth edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup.

Set against the magnificently dramatic backdrop of the AlUla canyons and the extraordinary landscapes of the Equestrian Village, near Saudi Arabia’s first Unesco World Heritage Site of Hegra, the tournament – widely regarded as the Sport of Kings – is played out in a purpose-built desert arena. The massive event returns in January 2024.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup
Returning for its fifth edition on February 2024, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup will welcome riders to navigate 120 kilometres of AlUla’s unique and rugged desert terrain with the finest horses from around the world. Equestrian enthusiasts and interested spectators will have an opportunity to experience an exciting day out, with entertainment and food and beverage on offer while connecting AlUla’s ancient Arabian horse heritage culture.
