Everything you need to know about Noor Riyadh 2023
The festival will start lighting up the city this weekend…
We don’t know about you, but one of the reasons we look forward to winter in Riyadh has to be the return of Noor Riyadh 2023. The massive light festival kicks off today, Thursday November 30, and will go on until December 16, and here’s everything you need to know about the return.

Theme
The third edition will be themed ‘The Bright Side of the Desert Moon,’ and will showcase over 120 artworks across five hubs in Riyadh.

The festival will also bring a host of fun activities to the capital, like interesting talks, family-friendly activities, workshops, and creative experiences.
Talk topics for this week include “The Artist’s Perspective: Ahmed Mater and Carsten Holler,” “Animating Sites: Placemaking Through Art,” “Building Audiences and Communities,” and more at JAX District. Family activities to look forward to include playing with prints, weaving for beginners, and building the future, all happening at Salam Park.
There are also tons of workshops to check out on urban movement, the power of print, and generative poetry at JAX District.
Zones
The five main hubs are set to be situated all around the capital, so you are never too far from the light. Making its mark at locations like King Abdullah Financial District, the art district JAX Diriyah, Wadi Hanifah, Salam Park, and Wadi Namar.
That’s not all, though, as there will also be a number of other locations where you can view the stunning artwork. These include Digital City, King Fahd National Library, the luxe Via Riyadh, and landmark destinations like Kingdom Tower and Faisaliah Tower.
Exhibition
Accompanying the festival will also be an exhibition under the theme of ‘Refracted Identities, Shared Futures,’ which will be held until March 2 2024 at JAX District. Over 30 artists will be participating including Abeer Sultan, Amna AlBaker, and Farah AlQasimi, among others.
