AlUla to host eSports Drone Champions League Super Final 2023

The free event is happening tomorrow…

Coming to the GCC for the very first time, the Drone Champions League Super Final 2023 is set to happen in the historic city of AlUla tomorrow (Wednesday December 20).

The event represents a milestone in AlUla’s ambition to become a global destination for the eSports and drone gaming industries, infusing the heart of the modern drone racing world with a slice of ancient charm.

Happening at the AlUla Old Town Amphitheatre, access to the event is free but attendees must register in advance due to limited capacity.

The event promises to reveal the most extraordinary display of skill, innovation, and technology in the stunning setting of AlUla’s Old Town. Recognised by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) as one of the world’s best tourism villages in 2022, the old town area is home to 900 houses, 400 shops, and 5 town squares.

The event will be hosted by The Royal Commission for AlUla in collaboration with strategic partners, including the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones and the Saudi eSports Federation.

This unique event blends physical and virtual elements, with pilots stationed in AlUla manoeuvring their drones virtually within the amphitheatre. The huge screen at the venue promises a real-time show for onlookers. While no physical drones will be flying in AlUla, it will be a chance for drone sports enthusiasts to enjoy the stunning and diverse landscapes of AlUla, varying between gorgeous golden canyons and lush green oases.
