10 of the best new restaurants in Jeddah

Check these out…

In the past few weeks and months, Jeddah has very quickly welcomed a plethora of amazing restaurants, and it’s never an easy decision to pick where to go. So here’s our edit on the best new restaurants in Jeddah you need to check out.

Crustacean

Founded by Chef Helene An, the brand is actually one of the richest ones we’ve seen in a while. After escaping war and moving to America, Chef Helene’s, mother-in-law Diane An, bought a 24-seat deli on a whim, which would later become their family business and safe haven.

Crustacean Jeddah, Yacht Club, Al Kurnaysh Br Rd, Mon to Sat 6pm to midnight, Closed Sun. @crustacean_sa

Pink perfection, meet Sign. One of Riyadh’s favourite homegrown burger joints is now open in Jeddah. After a successful run at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix as a pop-up,  the eatery has now opened a permanent branch in Al Mohammadiyyah.

Sign Burger, Prince Sultan Road, Al Mohammadiyyah, daily 11am-4am. @signsa_.

Ricci San

Whipping up classic Japanese dishes with a twist, the newly opened Ricci San is the spot to come if you’re looking for all manner of sashimi, ceviche, sushi rolls, and noodle dishes. The decor, lighting and cosy corners here are all creating a romantic vibe – perfect for a date, in our opinion – and the food is pretty good to boot, too.

Ricci San, King Abdul Aziz Rd, Abhur Al Junoobiyah, Jeddah 21451, Weekdays 7.30pm to 12.30am & Weekends 7.30pm to 1.30am. Tel: 050 003 1777. @ricci.san

A fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavours sounds like a must-try to us. The menu features dishes that are created under the guidance of Chef Pino Lavarra, a Michelin-starred, multi-award-winning celebrity chef. Expect dishes like steaks, pastas, and variations of hummus on the menu.

Maritime

The signature restaurant at the brand-new Jeddah Edition is also one to beat. The venue presents a sharing menu of French-Asian fusion flavours, masterminded by star chef Cédric Vongerichten for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Must-try menu highlights include shrimp dumplings accompanied by lemongrass beurre blanc and caviar, complemented by innovative non-alcoholic beverages such as the Saffron Spritz, featuring ginger honey and fresh saffron. Guests can dine in the main dining area, fronted by a show kitchen, the duo of private dining rooms, or on the pretty terrace, which overlooks the Red Sea.

Maritime, 7044 Al Kurnaysh Br Rd, Ash Shati, daily 7am to 11am (breakfast), noon to 3pm (lunch), 7pm to 1am (dinner). @jeddahedition
