Prepare for nights of culture at the European Film Festival

Movies might just be one of the most fun ways to pass the time, and when there’s a film festival in town, you best believe we’re going to grab the popcorn and keep our eyes glued to the screen.
Happening in both Jeddah and Riyadh from Wednesday May 29 until Thursday June 6, the European Film Festival will be taking over VOX Cinemas in Century Corner in the capital, and Jeddah Park in the Red Sea City.

Organized by the European Union Delegation in cooperation with Arabia Pictures, the Embassies of the EU Member States, and of course VOX Cinemas, this festival aims to facilitate cultural exchange and allow networking between European and Saudi filmmakers as well as promote European cinema.
The festival will be bringing you 21 European movies from 21 European countries and several side events including masterclasses and Q&As with various European film directors. We’re looking forward to viewing movies from all over the EU including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Cyprus, and more.

Additionally, films from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden will also be showcased.
The festival was announced in 2022 and the main aim is to create a cross-cultural conversation, by utilising one of the most universal languages mankind has known; cinema.
