Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar

Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for his grand productions, makes his series debut with Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Set in the 1920s, this new series focuses on three generations of courtesans living in the Heeramandi neighbourhood of Lahore, now in Pakistan. It tells the story of Mallikajaan (played by Manisha Koirala) ruling over an elite house of courtesans, while the country’s independence movement picks up steam.

Down the Rabbit Hole

One for all the family, Netflix’s latest Mexican comedy-drama movie is about 10-year-old Tochtli, a boy who likes hats, dictionaries, samurais, guillotines, and the French. And now, all he wants is a new animal for his private zoo: a Namibian pygmy hippo. His father, Yolcaut, is willing to satisfy his every whim, even if that whim is an endangered exotic animal. Raised in opulence and culture, Tochtli’s lavish life contrasts with the darkness that seeps in from his father’s criminal activities.

A Man In Full

A Man in Full, the sprawling Tom Wolfe novel now adapted by screenwriter David E. Kelley into a limited series for Netflix, centres on a protagonist who, for all his resources, can’t bend the world to his will. Over six episodes, the show finds itself in a similar bind. Facing relentless foes and sudden bankruptcy, an Atlanta real estate tycoon Charlie Croker must claw his way back to the top when his empire begins to crumble.

This documentary series analyses a murder case implicating a Spanish chef. The three-part series explores a case in which César Román built a career through a web of secrets and false identities. Román was a restaurateur who became known as “the king of cachopo” (cachopo is a dish from the Asturias region in the north of Spain). However, his cooking career came crashing down when he was arrested in November 2018 for the murder of Heidi Paz.

Bridgerton: Season 3 Part 1

Bridgerton lovers, if you’ve been anxiously waiting to see Penelope and Colin’s friends-to-lovers romance unfold, there is good news. Season 3 will focus on their love story, deviating from the original Julia Quinn books the series is based on. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly.
