Inside: The Jeddah EDITION, the city's coolest new stay
Complete with dazzling design details, a celebrated chef behind its signature restaurant, and a sensational rooftop…
Pack your bags for the Red Sea coast: The highly-anticipated Jeddah EDITION is now open. The luxurious hotel is situated on the Jeddah corniche, next to the yacht club and marina, lacing the brand’s vibrant and playful elements inspired by the locale into every part of the experience.
Befitting of its close proximity to the Jeddah Yacht Club, the debut EDITION hotel in Saudi Arabia has been designed to resemble a superyacht in its exterior design. Once inside, guests can check-in to one of 52 rooms and 11 suites, which all ooze EDITION’s simple, refined and contemporary style; dine at the hotel’s signature restaurant, conceptualised by top chef Cédric Vongerichten; and enjoy chic rooftop imbibing on the hotel’s fourth floor. Room rates start from SAR2,250 per night.
The beating heart of the property will be – as is customorary for EDITION hotels – the lobby. Laced with signature scent and arranged beneath 12-metre-high ceilings, it’s flooded with natural light that allow guests to enjoy the show-stopping sunrises and sunsets. Off the lobby, you’ll find a relaxing lobby lounge, dressed with paintings by New York-based artist John Jackson; and the Lobby Bar, a smartly adorned space that serves up an array of locally-inspired sips from day-to-night. Outside, the expansive alfresco terrace, which spans the entirety of the building, comes complete with a bocce ball court, Red Sea vistas, and views of the Floating Mosque.
For dining, signature restaurant Maritime presents a sharing menu of French-Asian fusion flavours, masterminded by star chef Cédric Vongerichten for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Must-try menu highlights include shrimp dumplings accompanied by lemongrass beurre blanc and caviar, complemented by innovative non-alcoholic beverages such as the Saffron Spritz, featuring ginger honey and fresh saffron. Guests can dine in the main dining area, fronted by a show-kitchen, the duo of private dining rooms, or on the pretty terrace, which overlooks the Red Sea.

Up on the fourth floor rooftop, guests are invited to escape to a Mediterranean beach club-inspired escape, where you’ll find a 14-metre pool lined with sunbeds, cabanas shaded with pretty bougainvillea, and a menu of wood-fire cooked dishes. The fourth floor is also where you’ll find a three treatment room spa and a state-of-the-art gym, for those looking to enjoy a pampering and active stay.
The guest rooms are artsy havens with a design-led feel, and all come with white oak furnishings, Le Labo bathroom amenities, and terraces that boast either Red Sea or F1 track. The creme de la creme of the room categories are a pair of sumptuous penthouses. The two-bedroom penthouse comes complete with a landscaped wrap-around terrace with panoramic vistas, two lounges, and an exquisite dining room with seating for ten. The 600 square metre royal penthouse invites you to live your very best VIP life, and features an elegantly landscaped terrace with prime race track views, two bedrooms with their own living rooms, along with private elevator access, an in-suite pantry, and a lower-level room for private security.
More EDITION hotels to come
While The Jeddah EDITION is the brand’s first foray into the Kingdom, it won’t be the last. Opening next year will be The Red Sea EDITION one of 11 hotels opening on the Red Sea Project’s main island, Shaura. The one-of-a-kind hotel will feature one, two, and three bedroom suites, a beach bar, swimming pool, spa, two signature restaurants, and more.
Thereafter, The Diriyah EDITIION will be among 16 new hotels to open in the north-western province between now and 2026. Other hotels opening in Diriyah’s mega project include renowned luxury hotel brands The Langham and Corinthia Hotels, Anantara, and Taj Hotels.
