The Red Sea's stunning Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is now open

Talk about getaway goals…

If you’re dreaming of an ultra-luxury getaway close to home in the Kingdom, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve should be high on your bucket list. And the resort is now officially open.

Set on a paradisiacal strip of sand in the crystalline Red Sea waters, Nujuma is the second of two resorts opening on Ummahat Island, joining neighbouring St Regis Red Sea resort, which opened earlier this year. Villa rates start from SAR8,211 per night.

The resort joins an ultra-exclusive collection of just six other Ritz-Carlton Reserves around the world, and is home to 63 one- to four-bedroom overwater and beach villas. Swoon.

Reachable via a scenic 45 minute yacht transfer or 20 minute sea plane journey, the super-luxury private sanctuary promises to deliver transformative and immersive guest experiences. A blend of Ritz-Carlton Reserve’s hyper luxury resort offering, laced with Saudi Arabian heritage and culture, the resort is dressed in an earthy, natural aesthetic, with shades inspired by the sand and sea.

Five-star amenities include Neyrah Spa, an indoor-outdoor oasis that unrolls along the sand, where you’ll find single and couple treatment rooms, bright relaxation areas, a lap pool, and cabanas where you can try an array of locally-inspired rituals. Edu-tainment is high on the agenda, and as such, a Conservation Center will offer insight into Saudi Arabian culture, community and environment through a breadth of inspiring and interactive activities.

For dining, the past meets the present with an array of traditional Saudi Arabian flavours laced into the culinary offering. Much of the foodie action is housed around Sita, a sensational indoor-outdoor Middle Eastern restaurant that faces the ocean. But guests can also embrace an array of flavours at Mediterranean restaurant Jamaa; and seafood-focused Tabrah.

Ritz-Carlton Reserve’s are all in handpicked, far-flung locations around the globe, weaving together human connection with the unique elements of the local culture, heritage and environment. Existing Ritz-Carlton Reserve’s are found in Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.

The Red Sea hotels to look forward to

Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve becomes the third hotel to open at Saudi Arabia’s sensational new Red Sea project, joining St Regis Red Sea Resort, which opened earlier this year; and Six Senses Southern Dunes, which debuted on an in-land desert site at the end of last year.

Later this year, a further two resorts will open at the destination. From summer 2024, guests will be able to check-in to Shebara, the first RSG-owned and operated resort at The Red Sea destination. With its futuristic villas reflecting off the ocean and surrounding crystalline waters, this is set to be a sought-after destination for marine life enthusiasts, with a 30-40 metre reef drop off close to the shore.

At the end of the year, one of the most jaw-dropping resorts, Desert Rock, will also open for visitors. Nestled in a secluded valley, this 60 key ultra-luxury escape will feature a collection of rooms built within the rocks. By the end of next year, a total of 16 hotels will be welcoming guests to enjoy the spoils of The Red Sea.
