Everything we know about the first-ever Olympic Esports Games in KSA

The International Olympic Committee partnered with the National Olympic Committee (NOC) to announce Saudi Arabia will host the inaugural Olympic Esports Games 2025.

Set to last for 12 years, the historic partnership between the IOC and the Saudi NOC will ensure the Olympic Esports Games are held regularly.

HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic and Paralympic Committee, said: “Saudi Arabia is hugely excited by the prospect of partnering with the IOC and helping to welcome a completely new era for international sport.”

He also stated “We believe that to take part in the Olympic Games is one of the greatest honours any athlete can achieve. And we are proud to support the writing of a new chapter in Olympic history that has the potential to inspire new dreams and new ambitions for literally millions of athletes around the world.”

With it being the very first, Saudi Arabia is committed to hosting a special event that respects and celebrates the Olympic values. Recently, the country also started hosting the largest global competition of its kind, which is all set to be held annually in Riyadh starting in the summer of 2024.

Saudi Arabia is deeply committed to furthering Esports in the Kingdom and the world. Currently, the Esports World Cup is hosting 20 major tournaments across 19 esports titles. You can check out 2,500 elite athletes of the world’s greatest esports clubs in action, the Esports World Cup will be welcoming a new cross-game competition format.

While the official location or city hasn’t been announced yet, we do know that the games will be held in the Kingdom.
