This rugged town will transport you from Riyadh to the Wild West
YeeHaw! Find your inner cowboy…
Rodeos, ghost towns, saloons, oh my. If you’re into the Wild West, this rugged town on the outskirts of Riyadh is the place to be, partner. Plus, you don’t have to be a cowboy yourself to enjoy the good ol’ cowboy culture.
About 45 minutes off the city centre, tucked away at Al Ammariyah, is a wonderful little gem known as South West Cowboy Town.
Take a step back in time and experience the Wild West in its modern-day form, complete with cowboys, good food, and fun.

Once you arrive through the beautifully arid desert landscape, you’ll enter a Wild Western street. The set design is pretty impressive, with authentic details like the dusty dirt road, a Route 66 sign, cabins like the post office, bar, and general store, built to resemble buildings of the old pioneer towns in the West, and actors dressed in cowboy hats and prairie clothes.
While you’re at it, you could perhaps even embody a specific character in the evening’s tale. You’ve got to look the part if you’re going to blend in, right?
Have your picture taken alongside cowboys and bandits with the Cowboy Town as the backdrop, and take part in your very own western shoot-out. Just don’t be surprised if those cowboys are up to their shenanigans…

There’s also plenty of fun at the ranch for your family excursion. Go on a pony ride, hop on the train, take a shot at archery, catch the cowboy show (it feels like you’re watching a Western movie play out as the actors mix suspense, action, and even some comedy into their routines), participate in live performances, and let the little ones explore the kid’s area filled with slides, a ball pit, and more.
While you’re out visiting the South West, you’re bound to get hungry for some food fit for a cowboy. The good news is you won’t have to travel far. Time for a drink in the local saloon and enjoy some delicious food.
The incredible love that fuelled the labour behind creating this Western town is seen in the smallest detail. It really makes you feel as if you travelled back in time to relive the Wild Wild West.
Tickets, priced at SAR35, are required to enter South West Cowboy Town, which you can purchase on site or via MyTable app.
