Riyadh Air prepares for take off in Q3 2025
The airline will launch upon receipt of its first wide-body jet later in the year…
Riyadh Air is set to take off in the third quarter of 2025. The much-discussed new Saudi Arabian airline was initially planning to launch in the summer, but it’s now set to receive its first Boeing 787-9 later than planned, which will push back its launch.
As per The National, Riyadh Air will only officially launch once it receives its first wide-body jet, with an airline official quoted as saying that operations will commence ‘as soon as possible’ once the B787-9 arrives.
“Major parts of the first aircraft are already prepared for final assembly and given well-known global supply chain challenges, we expect delivery to start in Q3, facilitating the start of operations soon after,” the statement said.
The airline is well on its way to being runway-ready. Some 60 cabin crew and pilots have already been hired, and the air operator certificate required by Riyadh Air is expected to be granted by regulators in the coming weeks.
While we’re still yet to see what taking a flight on Riyadh Air will look like, grand reveals of the aircraft cabins and product offerings are set to come in the months leading up to launch.
Previously Riyadh Air has promised that the airline will redefine the future of flying, so we’ve got high expectations for the whole airline experience.
Launch routes, and pricing structures are also still yet to be revealed. We can’t wait…
