With the debut of its first flight underway, Saudi Arabia’s innovative new airline unveils its stunning cabin interiors…
Ah, the moment we’ve been waiting for. Riyadh Air, the ‘no legacy’ carrier seen as the world’s first digital-native airline, has unveiled its first cabin layouts – and they are stunning.
Welcome to sophistication in the sky. Here’s everything you need to know about the new experience on Saudi Arabia’s innovative new airline.
Scheduled to take flight later this year, Riyadh Air’s Boeing 787-9 fleet will feature eye-catching interiors that blend high-quality finishes with cutting-edge technology.

Operating from its main hub in Riyadh, it will whisk 290 guests to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030. As a full-service carrier, Riyadh Air offers a range of travel classes, including Business Elite with four seats, Business class with 24 seats, Premium Economy class with 39 seats, and Economy class with 223 seats.
A world-class guest experience
With passenger comfort at the forefront of the airline’s focus, the aircraft’s configuration fits well with Riyadh Air’s dedication to providing relaxing luxury travel experiences.
Onboard, Business Elite and Business guests will enjoy flying in Safran Unity seats arranged in a 1-2-1 fully flat-bed layout, measuring 78 inches in length and 22.5 inches in width. These seats are equipped with industry-leading lighting and audio features, including integrated suite lighting, A/C power, two USB-C charging points, one USB-A charging point, and sliding privacy doors with adjustable privacy dividers between centre seats.
Guests will also love the embedded headrest speakers, outfitted with Devialet’s (the high-end French innovator redefining sound) signature acoustic technology to deliver immersive, high-fidelity sound without the need for headphones.
Additionally, Business Elite features a double bed in the front centre seats and boasts a 32-inch touchscreen with 4K OLED technology, recognised as the world’s largest Business Class screen.
Meanwhile, with a 2-3-2 layout featuring a seat pitch of 38 inches and a width of 19.2 inches, Premium Economy guests can look forward to privacy head wings, increased seat storage, a versatile and expandable side table design, refined recliner lounge comfort with calf rest, and four USB-C charging points.
The Economy will have a 3-3-3 layout with a 31-inch pitch and a width of 17.2 inches. It will also have 6-way adjustable headrests and two USB-C charging points.
To ensure maximum comfort, all seats are ergonomically crafted with plush foam, premium, home-inspired fabrics, and tufted stitching designed for deep, restorative comfort, whether you’re sitting or sleeping. Yes, please.
A refined visual experience
The design philosophy blends intelligent design, ergonomic comfort, and thoughtful details. Carefully selected materials, curated lighting, and a cohesive colour palette create a cabin that feels naturally inviting and unmistakably luxurious.
The signature theme of all cabins features a distinctive canopy twist design that evokes the elegance of traditional Arabic tents.
Mocha Gold and veined stone accents in Premium cabins offer a subtle, elegant contrast to rich purple textures. A thoughtfully curated palette of dark indigo, mocha, iridescent tones, skyline blue, sunset peach, and lavender evokes a rich sophistication, seamlessly weaving the identity of the city of Riyadh into a modern expression of luxury felt throughout every cabin.
The Riyadh Air experience
The carrier will also be the first airline to launch Panasonic Avionics’ fully integrated in-flight engagement (IFE) interactive design and publishing tool: Modular Interactive (MI), a comprehensive interactive design tool that provides a quick and easy way to respond to the latest guest trends while offering seasonal updates and promotions.
As a digitally native airline, Riyadh Air loyalty members will enjoy Viasat’s seamless, free onboard streaming, social scrolling, web browsing, and gaming available from gate to gate (where permitted). Customers who sign up for the airline’s loyalty scheme will receive complimentary Wi-Fi. Viasat’s network will enable Live TV on the aircraft’s seatback screens, providing a variety of news and sports channels for guests to enjoy.
Having recently received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and taken delivery of its first technical spare aircraft, it is poised to announce its network and the date of its first flight in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates.
