The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has revealed new guidelines for visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The new rules reflect Islamic values and aim to preserve the sanctity of the holy site.

The new guidelines for visiting the Prophet’s Mosque start with visitors entering with their right foot and saying the prescribed dua upon entering. Once inside, avoid raising your voice, maintain calmness and dignity, and send peace upon the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions (RA).It is recommended to lead with the left foot while reciting the prescribed dua.
Madinah is the second-holiest city in Islam after Makkah. It’s home to the Prophet (PBUH)’s Mosque, and a single prayer at the site is equivalent to a thousand everywhere else.
The city was the destination of the Prophet’s (PBUH) migration and his place of residence, and it was the first-ever capital in Islamic history.
The holy sites also just wrapped up Hajj 2025 earlier this month, and according the National Centre of Meteorology, this past Hajj season officially signals the end of the pilgrimage happening during the peak summer months, a pattern that is not expected to return for the next 25 years. Moving forward, according to the 25-year Hajj calendar, the pilgrimage is expected to be in May in 2026, and then continue in spring for the seven years that follow, then move into winter starting from 2033 onwards.
