Saudi Arabia announces the start of a new Umrah season

The country will now begin reissuing Umrah permits to international pilgrims…

After a successful Hajj season this month, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the launch of the Umrah season for the Hijri year 1447. For those coming from outside the Kingdom, Umrah visas will also be open now. These are all the new Umrah season updates in Saudi Arabia.

The ministry confirmed that the new Umrah season updates in Saudi Arabia will include the issuance of Umrah permits for international pilgrims starting from Wednesday, June 11, through the “Nusuk” app. Marking the beginning of a new Umrah season.

During the last Umrah season, Saudi Arabia had stopped issuing Umrah permits in April 2025, and set April 29, 2025 as the last date for Umrah pilgrims to leave the country before the beginning of Hajj season in June. The move came in an effort to better coordinate arrivals during the Hajj season and avoid overcrowding. The aim was to ensure the safety and organisation of the upcoming pilgrimage.

According to Saudi Gazette, the ministry noted that technical and operational preparations for the new season had begun early, in coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure smooth procedures and continuous improvement.

Saudi Arabia had also barred entry for citizens of countries like India, Egypt, Pakistan, Yemen, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Nigeria, Algeria, Indonesia, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, and Libya. Although, no visa updates (other than Umrah ones) have been announced at this time.
