Saudi Arabia launches Qubool to help students with university admissions

The new platform will unify the entire application process…

Saudi Arabia has just announced the launch of Qubool, the ultimate tool for university students moving forward. The Ministry of Education launched an electronic platform known as the National Unified Admission Platform. Here’s everything we know about the Qubool education platform.

The platform aims to standardise and streamline admission procedures for male and female students in Saudi public universities and technical colleges.

The platform seeks to help students identify available educational options and unify admission criteria. It integrates with other government entities to ensure data quality and accuracy without the need to visit university campuses.

Through a centralised system, the portal enables candidates to submit their credentials, monitor the status of their applications, and receive updates. The platform aims to streamline operations and cut down on redundancies for both students and educational institutions by combining the admissions process.

The conditions to apply for the platform include:

  1. The applicant must hold a General Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, obtained from within or outside the Kingdom.
  2. If the applicant is employed in the government or private sector, they must obtain approval from their employer to study.
  3. Successful completion of any tests or personal interviews required by the university (e.g., aptitude tests and achievement tests).
  4. Some colleges (such as Medicine and Nursing) may require the applicant to be a recent high school graduate from the same year.
  5. Competitive admission criteria apply based on weighted or composite scores.
  6. No more than five years should have passed since obtaining the General Secondary School Certificate (with exceptions for some specializations or technical colleges).
  7. The student must not be currently enrolled in another university or technical college (withdrawal is required if they wish to apply).
  8. The applicant must not have been dismissed from another educational institution in the Kingdom.
  9. For scholarship students / non-Saudis: Additional conditions apply, such as approval from their home government, not having received a previous scholarship, certification of documents, a police clearance certificate, passing a medical examination, and the presence of a male guardian (Mahram) for female students (according to regulations).
