Madinah is getting its own book fair – and it's happening right now

The slogan is “The City Reads”

The Madinah International Book Fair 2025 kicked off this week at the King Salman International Convention and Exhibition Centre, and you need to check it out.

Happening until August 4, the book fair will see more than 300 publishing houses and agencies from around the world participating. The fair will be spread across more than 200 pavilions, in a cultural and knowledge-based celebration that reflects the kingdom’s cultural movement.

Currently in its fourth edition, the fair embodies the ongoing support provided by the cultural sector in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, CEO of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority, emphasised that this event comes within the framework of strengthening Medina’s position as an important cultural centre.

The exhibition represents a wonderful opportunity to promote cultural exchange and interest in reading, highlighting the talents of Saudi writers and authors. It also provides a world-class investment environment and brings together diverse segments of society to serve as a meeting point for culture and literature.

That’s not all, though. Kiddos can also look forward to an interactive area featuring educational activities and workshops that enhance their creative abilities. The exhibition contributes to instilling cognitive and educational values in future generations, encouraging them to read and learn through cultural programs that combine entertainment and literature.

The fair is free and open to all, serving as a platform for communication and interaction with culture and books, and promises to be a prominent cultural event in Medina.

After the Madinah International Book Fair 2025, Riyadh gets to have a taste with the Riyadh International Book Fair this October.
