Qiddiya unveils plans for a mega golf course in Riyadh
Get ready for the tee-off
One of Saudi Arabia’s most anticipated developments is Qiddiya, and the megaproject has just revealed plans for an 18-hole golf course designed by English golfer Sir Nick Faldo. So, dust off the clubs, we’ve got a brand-new mega golf course in Qiddiya to check out (soon).
Set alongside the 200-metre-high cliffs of the Tuwaiq Mountains, the course is a part of Qiddiya’s broader vision and goal to strengthen golf infrastructure in the Kingdom.
The larger golf destination will include a clubhouse, extensive training grounds, and an advanced academy developed by Patterson Design. These facilities are tailored to the desert environment, emphasising sustainability and alignment with global golf standards, according to Arab News.
Featuring fitness and wellness centres, social spaces, indoor and outdoor pools, and a variety of restaurants and cafes, the site is shaping up to be a community hub perfect for people of all ages and interests.
At the heart of the site, a green-covered structure open to the public will host events and serve as a central gathering space. Bringing together the golf club, the multi-use sports and social complex, and the training academy, the space creates the perfect destination to relax.
This distinctive architectural centrepiece will link the three key areas: the golf club as the operational core, a sports and social activity centre, and an academy focused on high-level golf instruction and training.
