There's a free street food festival happening in Riyadh right now

Come hungry

As part of its mission to showcase the very best the Saudi cuisine has to offer, the Culinary Arts Commission under the Ministry of Culture is hosting a cool new street food festival in Riyadh.

Happening until Friday July 25, this festival aims to offer an exceptional tasting experience celebrating popular street food cuisine, an integral part of the kingdom’s unique culinary identity.

The street food festival in Riyadh seeks to showcase the rich cultural diversity of the kingdom’s culinary scene. Featuring several diverse pavilions offering main dishes such as saleeg, qursan, haneeth, and, of course, Saudi kabsa, along with local drinks inspired by all regions of the Kingdom, including the central, western, northern, southern, and eastern regions.

Under the watchful eyes of professional Saudi chefs, visitors will savour authentic dishes and distinctive flavours that reflect the history and culture of each region.

That’s not all, though. Visitors can also enjoy live cooking experiences, as well as authentic Saudi coffee and various types of dates from all over the Kingdom. The festival also features an innovative ice cream cart with five distinct Saudi flavours, supervised by a specialised chef, adding a refreshing touch to the hot summer weather.

Happening alongside the Esports World Cup at Boulevard Riyadh City, the street food festival in Riyadh is a perfect chance to explore everything the Saudi cuisine has to offer.

The best part? It’s completely free to stroll around, though prices may apply to the food that you purchase.

Location: Boulevard Riyadh City, Hittin
