Kuwait to grant Saudi residents visa on arrival

This just in

It’s just been announced that Kuwait will now begin to offer Saudi residents a visa upon arrival to the country at any port. The move comes after a new policy was announced Sunday by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef. This is what you need to know about Kuwait’s visa on arrival for Saudi residents.

According to Gulf Newsall GCC residents with a valid residency permit of at least six months can now enter Kuwait on a tourist visa issued directly at the port of entry. The directive took effect immediately and annuls a 2008 regulation that previously looked after the entry of foreign residents from other Gulf states for tourism purposes.

The change is meant to streamline travel for the major expat population living all over the GCC and to align Kuwait’s entry rules with regional tourism trends.

Per the Kuwait Times, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior stated that the new regulation aligns with Decree Law No. 114 of 2024 concerning the residence of foreigners. The undersecretary of the ministry has been tasked with implementing the new decision, aimed at facilitating tourism and strengthening Kuwait’s ties with neighboring Gulf states.
