Saudi Pro League announces 2025-2026 football fixtures

The teams are back in action from August 28

Football fans, get excited: The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has announced the fixtures for the 2025-26 Roshn Saudi League (RSL).

Kicking off on Thursday August 28, it is shaping up to be the league’s most competitive season yet, with 306 matches set across 34 rounds.

The opening round standout matches

Friday August 29

Following their superb run to the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinals, Al Hilal starts their campaign with a city derby clash against Al Riyadh.

Location: Kingdom Arena, Riyadh

Arguably, the standout match of the round takes place in Jeddah, where AFC Champions League winners Al Ahli host promoted Neom, who dominated the Saudi First Division last season. Neom have since strengthened their squad with the signings of former Arsenal captain Alexandre Lacazette, goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, and highly-rated midfield youngster Amadou Koné as manager Christophe Galtier seeks to establish the Tabuk-based club in the top tier.

Saturday August 30

Cristiano Ronaldo – fresh from signing his new contract – and Al Nassr will hit the road to take on Al Taawoun, one of last season’s surprise packages.

Location: King Abdullah Sport City, Buraydah

Sunday August 31

Reigning champions Al Ittihad begin their title defence away to Al Okhdood.

Fast start in-store for ‘Big Four’

Al Ahli

In a clear display of the high standards in the RSL, there is no easing into the season for last year’s top three and Asian champions Al Ahli. After welcoming Neom on the opening day, Al Ahli will face Al Hilal (H) in Matchweek 3 on Saturday September 20 at Alinma Stadium in Jeddah.

They will take on Al Ittihad (A) in the Sea Derby in Matchweek 8 on Thursday November 6. The reverse derby match is scheduled for Matchweek 25 on Thursday March 5, 2026.

Al Hilal

Al Hilal immediately follows their opening match with a home fixture against Al Qadsiah, last season’s fourth-placed finishers and King’s Cup finalists, on Saturday September 13 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

They then travel to Jeddah to face Al Ahli in Matchweek 3 (Saturday September 20 at Alinma Stadium). Three rounds later on Saturday October 25, Al Hilal return to Jeddah for the first Clasico against rivals Al Ittihad, meaning the Riyadh giants face several early-season tests that could be crucial to the rest of their campaign.

Al Ittihad

Al Ittihad’s opening game against Al Okhdood is followed by home fixtures against Al Fateh in Matchweek 2 on Sunday September 14 and Al Nassr in Matchweek 4 on Saturday September 27.

There’s also a trip in between to face Al Najmah on Saturday September 20 in Buraydah, before the blockbuster encounter with Al Hilal in Jeddah in Matchweek 6 on Saturday October 25. Their final game of the season in Matchweek 34, taking place on Thursday May 21, 2026, will be a rematch of last season’s King’s Cup final in Jeddah against Al Qadsiah, whom they defeated to secure the domestic double.

Al Nassr

Following their opening trip to Al Taawoun, Al Nassr’s early schedule also includes a significant visit to Jeddah to face Al Ittihad in Matchweek 4 on Saturday September 27, followed by a home fixture against Neom in Matchweek 8 on Thursday November 6 at King Khalid Sports City in Tabuk.

A challenging winter period between Matchweek 13 and 16 sees Al Nassr face Al Ahli (A) on Friday January 2, 2026 at Alinma Stadium in Jeddah; Al Qadsiah (H) on Thursday January 8, 2026 at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh; Al Hilal (A) in the Capital Derby on Monday January 12, 2026 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh; and Al Shabab (H) on Friday January 16, 2026 at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.
