iPhone 17 in KSA: Here's everything we know about the launch

The most coveted iPhone to date is set to be revealed next week

Ah, September. The month where the weather is supposed to cool down (keywords: supposed to), new Apple devices are released, and of course, most importantly, it’s my birthday month. I jest, I swear. On to the more important things, though, here’s what to know about the iPhone 17 in KSA.

The big Apple event

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 9, 2025. That’s the day that Apple is set to possibly reveal the coveted iPhone 17 at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California. People around the world will be able to watch it live via Apple’s website, YouTube, and the Apple TV app.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the launch date on X and showed a futuristic Apple logo design, hinting at big reveals, including the rumored ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air.

As per What’s On Dubai, What’s On spoke to a representative from Apple who mentioned that during the launch event, Apple is expected to reveal:

  • Pre-order dates for the iPhone 17

  • The official release date for KSA and worldwide

  • The launch of iOS 26, featuring a refreshed design and new features across iPhone, iPad, and Mac

  • Details on the full iPhone 17 lineup, including the new iPhone 17 Air

What’s new?

Changes are expected to be seen in several features of the new phone, including the camera, display, and processor, as well as arguably the most fun part, the colours, too.

Per MacRumors, the new iPhone is set to feature a redesigned rear camera module, larger display sizes, ProMotion across the lineup, Wi-Fi 7, and more. Speculations suggest that the upcoming device will have a display that’s around 6.6 inches, and be 6mm thick or less.

With new iPhones, we also get new iPhone colours each year. We don’t know what Apple has in the works this year (although one can hope the Barbie pink stays on).

When it comes to the cameras, Apple is rumoured to be working on a 24-megapixel front camera with a six-element lens; while the Pro Max version could include an upgraded 48-megapixel Telephoto camera. The basic iPhone 17 is rumoured to have the same Wide and Ultra Wide cameras, while the iPhone 17 Air is expected to get a single-lens 48-megapixel rear camera.

Why should you pay attention?

Apple products are hugely popular in KSA, and stores are very likely to follow global pre-order schedules closely. If you’ve been wanting to get your hands on the latest Apple has to offer, watching the livestream is an absolute must

So, whether you’re tuning in for the Apple Event live or planning to head straight to a store, one thing is certain: we are in our iPhone 17 era.
