With back-to-school season fully underway, and traffic being the worst it has ever been (trust me, I speak from experience), the Riyadh Metro has just announced its new working hours. This is what the new Riyadh Metro schedule looks like.
According to the Saudi Gazette, officials stated that the new schedule supports broader plans to expand and enhance the public transportation network in line with sustainability and quality-of-life objectives.

The new Riyadh Metro schedule will begin every morning at 5.30am, moving 30 minutes earlier than the previous 6am slot, and run until midmight from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays, the Riyadh Metro will run from 10am until midnight.
The Riyadh Metro is the largest in the Middle East and the world’s longest driverless train system. There are six main lines and 84 stations covering a distance of 176 kilometres. The Riyadh Metro network covers most of the highly populated districts, government facilities, and key educational and commercial areas.
The most popular line to date is the Blue Line, which runs between Al-Olaya and Al-Batha and has seen nearly 10 million passengers on board. The buzziest station to date is the King Abdullah Financial District station, which serves as a major hub for switching lines. The station, located on the eastern side of KAFD, serves as a hub for the blue, yellow, and violet lines.
