The Riyadh Theatre Festival 2025 is happening this December
The event returns for its third edition
Riyadh is known for its iconic festivals; we’re talking music, cultural, and more. The city is constantly churning out exciting activities to fill up our evenings, and this one is no different. The Riyadh Theatre Festival 2025 is happening soon.
Set to take over the city from Monday December 15 to Thursday December 25, the theatrical movement features ten Saudi theatre troupes competing for awards across multiple categories.
The Riyadh Theatre Festival 2025 will unfold over several stages, beginning with production support for Saudi theatre troupes and culminating in the final competition.
Confirmed via the Theatre and Performing Arts Commission’s website, the event’s previous editions, held in 2023 and 2024, took place at the Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University.
The festival aims to enrich the cultural and artistic scene and enhance the status of theatre in Saudi Arabia. In previous editions of the festival, performances have been accompanied by various activities, including workshops, intellectual seminars, and an exhibition honouring the distinguished personality (last year’s edition celebrated the late Ahmed Al-Sabbagh).
Previously, the program has featured 20 theatrical performances carefully selected by a specialised committee composed of a group of experts and specialists in the field of theatre.
