What parents are really spending
Ahead of the launch, new research commissioned by The Baby Expo reveals that parents in Saudi Arabia spend an average of SAR 60,261 on products, equipment, and services during their child’s first year, showcasing a strong demand for trusted, high-quality products.
The survey, conducted by Censuswide, found almost three-quarters of respondents agree they are more likely to purchase from brands with a physical presence in Saudi Arabia, with 67 per cent saying they are more likely to stay loyal to brands that appear at local events.
Additionally, among parents and parents-to-be, safety and reputation are the most important factors in trusting a brand for their children, with nearly two-thirds highlighting safety, and 48 per cent saying reputation mattered most when making purchases.
The findings also draw attention to key challenges in the current market, with over half of respondents (54 per cent) pointing to high prices, limited variety (33 per cent), and a lack of reliable reviews (32 per cent) when shopping for baby products in the Kingdom.
‘Building on the success of the 2024 and 2025 Dubai events, The Baby Expo Riyadh will provide parents with a one-stop shop for discovering all the newest insights, products, and services, as well as the best education and support from the region’s leading parenting experts, providing parents with all the tools needed to raise a happy, healthy baby’, said Ashleigh Lloyd, Co-Founder of The Baby Expo Riyadh.
