Iconic brands SLS, EDITION, and InterContinental are preparing to welcome their first guests to the heart of The Red Sea

New resorts and attractions are set to open soon at the luxury Shura Island, the centrepiece of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea destination.

Meanwhile, InterContinental The Red Sea Resort is a five-star barefoot luxury escape with 178 rooms and 32 suites, five dining venues, a spa, event spaces, and a design inspired by the surrounding coral reefs.

Blending natural desert landscapes with lush fairways, the course offers sweeping marina views, waterfront holes, and a stunning clubhouse.

When complete, Shura Island will be home to 11 world-class resorts spread across its crescent-shaped shores, each tucked between pockets of white sand and turquoise lagoons.

According to Red Sea Global, Shura Island’s remaining eight resorts – Faena, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Miraval, Raffles and Rosewood – are on track to open in the coming months.

Alongside its resorts, Shura Island will feature a selection of exclusive homes available for private ownership, with first handovers scheduled by the end of 2025. Residents will enjoy access to all the island’s entertainment, as well as its pristine beaches and azure waters, while also benefiting from seamless connectivity to the wider destination and iconic resorts.

Getting to Shura Island

Guests will first arrive via Red Sea International Airport, which already serves domestic and international routes, with Qatar Airways adding direct flights starting next month.

From there, guests can either hop on a boat to the island’s marina or take the electric vehicle across the stunning 3.3-kilometre Shura crossing, including Saudi Arabia’s longest internal bridge.
