The Diriyah Storytelling Festival 2025 is happening right now

It’s the festival’s second edition

When you’re younger, you think the entire world is your oyster (and it is), like you could be the main character of all the stories you’ve heard, one decision at a time. Storytelling is one of the most significant forms of human expression, and for Diriyah Season 2025, we have an entire festival dedicated to it. Welcome to the Diriyah Storytelling Festival 2025.

Unfolding in the Al Bujairi District, which has historically been a meeting point for intellectuals, poets, and thinkers, over the course of the next two weeks, the Diriyah Storytelling Festival 2025 offers a platform that brings together leading local and international writers and authors in a celebration of narrative arts in all their forms.

It’s not too wordy, though, if that’s what you’re worried about. The festival promises immersive evenings where storytelling meets music and visual arts, exploring how sharing stories is one of the most significant forms of human expression.

There’s even more to look forward to, though. The Diriyah Storytelling Festival 2025 features more than 40 workshops and panel discussions in both Arabic and English, over 20 lectures, and inspiring talks featuring more than 30 speakers, including authors and experts in storytelling and narrative arts.

The festival also features Majlis Ar-Rawi, which dissects a different story every day, and the Tell Us a Story experience, which allows visitors to record personal memories and reflections in a calm setting. Additionally, Who’s the Storyteller? invites guests to try a book-vending machine that hides covers and titles, where visitors can play a fun guessing game.

You can also look forward to the interactive Diriyah Between the Lines experience, where visitors select small capsules containing hidden texts with inspiring story excerpts. And if you’ve got any old books that need a new home, The Giving Shelf offers a dedicated cart for book donations.

Then there’s also the storytellers’ forum, which has been designed as an accessible literary corner featuring six pavilions that provide opportunities for exploration and direct engagement with the world of literature in a culturally enriching environment.
