Global City Dammam is set to open its doors this month
And it’s only the first phase
Riyadh has Boulevard World, and Jeddah has the Global Carnival; the only major Saudi area missing out on a glorious celebration of cultures is Dammam. But not anymore—enter Global City Dammam.
Expected to open its doors at the end of November, the new entertainment zone comes directly from the Eastern Province Mayoralty, in collaboration with a Thai investor.

The first phase of this iconic project includes sub-zones representing 16 countries, in addition to an open-air theatre that can hold 10,000 people, a floating restaurant on an artificial lake, an open-air electronic games area, as well as water games, according to Saudi Gazette.
That’s not all, though; food is at the heart of the operation. There will be several venues offering international cuisine that represent the participating countries, offering visitors an interactive experience that combines entertainment and cultural diversity.
The project is located between Dammam and Qatif, near the Abu Hadriyah Road, making it easier for people from various cities in the region to visit.
Phase one will also see the launch of Dream Sphere, an immersive art installation featuring interactive digital projections and AI-driven visuals in six themed zones. There will also be an uber-cool Thai-inspired floating food market that will add a vibrant touch, serving Asian street foods in a waterside setting.
Global City Dammam spreads over 600,000 square metres, 240,000 square metres of which is an artificial lake, making it the largest of its kind in the region.
The next phases
Phase two will make add on extra pavilions, stunt areas, and restaurants and will see the launch of an all-new water park with slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers for all ages.
In phase three, the Global Arena will open as a world-class expo and entertainment complex with cutting-edge technology and flexible event spaces.
Later, a new residential neighbourhood will also be built, offering modern, sustainable housing and community hubs for residents and long-term visitors.
