Riyadh Zoo 2025 by Riyadh Season 2025 is now open

Family-friendly fun awaits

Riyadh Zoo first opened its doors to the public way back in 1957 and has become part of the glorious Riyadh Season. As part of the deal, the gorgeous zone is back for the fourth year in a row. Riyadh Zoo 2025 is now open.

Featuring 1,500 animals from 190 species, Riyadh Zoo 2025 has been completely revamped with vibrant zones, daily shows, and engaging activities. Open until January 3, 2026, the zone welcomes animals from all over the world.

The zone is actually one of the three free Riyadh Season zones. The Riyadh Zoo takes over an area of 55 acres (that’s 222,577 square metres), with fun packed into every square inch of the space.

This time around, the Riyadh Season zone is divided into six zones, including the Pink Lake, Enchanted Forest, Wild Adventure, Ape Escape, The Swamp (not to be confused with Shrek’s swamp, of course), and Al Malaz Bay.

Stroll around, and you can explore the Pink Lake, where gorgeous pink flamingos glide across a stunning lake. There’s also the Enchanted Forest, where you can look forward to getting up close and personal with giraffes, llamas, and gazelles. Perhaps the most anticipated subzone has to be the Wild Adventure one, where ferocious lions roam and rule the Kingdom (inside the zoo, of course), and elephants and hippos stroll along mud-brick paths.

The next three zones include the Ape Escape, where you can feed chimps, lemurs, and orangutans. Then there’s The Swamp, where you can look forward to checking out the iconic crocodile tunnel and the Reptile House, which is home to over 60 glorious species, located just before the Bengal and White Tigers take charge (of your attention).

Lastly, there’s the Al Malaz Bay. Highlights include the Owl House, Kangaroo Arena, and the Farm Experience too.

The zoo, as we said, has been around for far longer than Riyadh Season, although it’s gotten a mega upgrade since it became a part of the season. This time around, there are multiple new experiences you can look forward to.
