Makkah is introducing child safety bracelets for Umrah and Hajj
The bracelets will be available at select gates
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has just introduced a new safety initiative for children at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. The Grand Mosque will now issue Hajj and Umrah identification bracelets for children.
The Hajj and Umrah identification bracelets for children include guardians’ contact details, allowing for quick identification if a child becomes lost or separated. The move comes as part of an integrated system to enhance visitor safety and support staff in managing emergencies efficiently within the Grand Mosque complex and its courtyards, according to Gulf News.

The bracelets will be available at key gates, including King Abdulaziz Gate and King Fahd Gate (Gate No. 79), where dedicated personnel will be registering their contact information smoothly.
Authorities are encouraging all guardians and parents to make the most of the service, especially during peak visitor periods, such as the Umrah season and the Hajj pilgrimage, which is when the Grand Mosque experiences a significant surge in attendance.
The new initiative aims to provide peace of mind for parents and guardians, upholding the highest standards of child safety for visitors.
Other new things coming to Makkah

HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RUA Al Haram Al Makki Company, has also announced the launch of King Salman Gate in Makkah to help pilgrims access Masjid al-Haram. Taking over up to 12 million square metres of gross floor area next to AlMasjid AlHaram, the project showcases a major step in the development of Makkah and its central area. The new King Salman Gate in Makkah aims to be a transformative multi-use development. The mixed-use destination will prioritise offering residential, hospitality, commercial, and cultural experiences.
