Get the details on this one-of-a-kind celebration of Greek culture and gastronomy…
Opa! If you’re a gastronome who loves a celebration of fun and Greek culture, this will be the perfect festival for you. Contemporary Greek restaurant Meraki Riyadh launches Greek Fest, which will be held tomorrow (Monday October 10) at 7pm.
That’s right – they are celebrating Greek culture and gastronomy and promise to deliver a vibrant and social dining experience that brings together the iconic ambience of the Greek islands with Meraki’s globally renowned Greek haute cuisine.
Here’s what to expect at the inaugural edition of Meraki Greek Fest.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed into the restaurant’s lounge area, where you will begin your culinary journey with refreshing welcome drinks and Greek-style canapés.
Then, proceed into the main dining area, and you’ll notice olive tree centrepieces, punctuated with bottles of extra virgin olive oil and melodic Greek tunes, to recreate the iconic ambience of the Cycladic Islands.
The highlight of the festival is the unveiling of an exclusive à la carte menu curated by Head Chef Dimitrios Koumis. Inspired by the meaning of ‘Meraki’ – the Greek term for doing tasks with soul, creativity and love – the menu features iconic dishes from Meraki’s culinary repertoire alongside new creations influenced by authentic regional Greek recipes.
Mouth-watering menu items prepared especially for Meraki Greek Fest include the Maniatiki salad with potato, orange, olive and spring onion; flatbread with tomato, feta cheese, olive and oregano; and Cherry Tomato (tagliatelle pasta with ripe tomato sauce and feta cheese).
Continue to taste your way through Greece with Tsiladia (sea bream fillet with onion, tomato and raisin), Beef Cheek “Giouvetsi” (a 12-hour slow-cooked beef with orzo pasta, mizithra cheese and fresh truffle), and Saffron Calamarata (prawns cooked with saffron and green peppercorn).
Served alongside classic and new mocktails, the Meraki Greek Fest menu explores traditional flavours with a dash of contemporary creativity while paying homage to Greece’s most cherished dining traditions.
The purpose of the Meraki Greek Fest is to unveil a never-seen-before side to the Meraki journey with theatrically inspired elements that showcase the full potential of the restaurant’s culinary experience. By the end of the night, you might find yourself saying, “Opa!”
