Restaurant Review: Brute Riyadh
A meat lover’s heaven…
If you’ve been dreaming about the perfect steak, we’d say it’s about time to call off the search. Latin American restaurant Brute Riyadh brings together everything you need for a good night out on the town: incredible food, great vibes and more.
Set in none other than the gorgeous foodie hub, Ramla Terraza, Brute is a contemporary fine-dining venue with a little something for everyone. Despite being a recent addition to the Riyadh dining, the venue is already popular with local diners.
All about the vibes
Brute Riyadh has a little something for everyone. When you walk in, you can pick from three dining areas. The sprawling outdoor deck area is the way you want to go if the weather is actually good (rare in Riyadh, we know). When it comes to indoor dining, you can pick from a table next to the in-house bar and watch the bartenders work their magic or one near the open kitchen concept and watch the chefs prepare the delicious food (don’t drool just yet though).
One thing all the spaces have in common though, is the incredibly lively atmosphere. After you’ve picked a table, you can get cosy and try out the delicious Chapa and Pandebono Bread (SAR10) served with chimichurri sauce and hazelnut butter.
Skipping to the main event: the food
We then tucked into the super creamy Beef and Cheese Empanadas (SAR30) and the amazing Braised Beef Back Ribs (SAR130). And if you get any of the salads, you need to run (not walk) and order the Watermelon Salad (SAR65), it’s refreshing and bursting with flavour in a way that you don’t always see on a menu. If you love having a cheesy start to your meals though, dig into the Smoked Burrata Salad (SAR110), and you may have had burrata before, but definitely not like this.
We also had the Ecuadorian Shrimp Ceviche (SAR90) and the crispy Asian Chicken (SAR65), and if you’re not big on meat, the chicken starter is the way you want to go.
Don’t fill up on the extensive starter menu though, you need to make it to the mains and order the Ancho Rib-Eye (SAR220) from the Argentinian Cuts portion of the menu. It’s mind-blowingly good, and we don’t say this lightly. And if we’re honest, all the items’ meat quality is top-tier.
There’s always room for dessert…
We washed all of it down with the sweet and tangy Berry Gwen (SAR55). And while we thought we were full, there’s always (and we mean always) for dessert. We tried out the Sharing Dessert Sampler (SAR180), which comes with the Dulce De Leche Cheesecake, Crème Brulee, Dulce De Leche Fondant Fondant and some super fresh tropical fruits. It’s the perfect way to end the meal and try out each dessert option.

All in all, it’s a restaurant best enjoyed with good company, and if it keeps at its current pace then we just know it’s going to be the next big name when it comes to steakhouses in Riyadh.
