London's Pahli Hill is bringing some of the best regional Indian plates to Riyadh
Expect sumptuous interiors and food…
There is no end to the appetite for Indian cuisine in the capital. Another restaurant that is set to open its doors in KAFD in Riyadh is Pahli Hill. Hailing from London, it has recently been awarded as the 2023 winner of London’s Bib Gourmands restaurant.
Pahli Hill is named after one of Mumbai’s oldest neighbourhoods and it is modelled on the cultural melting pot of communal living, commonly known as “building societies”. The concept behind Pahli Hill is about sharing food with everyone in a celebration of community, as well as eating well and informally.

As for the food? The restaurant is known to have some of the finest flavour-packed regional dishes from every corner of the country. So, expect easy-to-eat and full of fresh, eclectic mix of regionally-inspired flavours.
Diners will also be able to choose from a selection of small and big plates or sample something from its tandoor and grills section; all of which will be cooked following house recipes that use traditional techniques.
Think of it as the sort of place to come with friends or family, especially since sharing of food is encouraged here.
And although we’re not sure when exactly Pahli Hill will be opening, we’re already looking forward to its signature dishes being brought to Riyadh. Some of the highlights of its menu include Mangalore Bun and Dorset crab Sukkha with fennel seeds, crushed chilli and ginger, Chettinad-style veal shin with black pepper, fennel and chilli, and the Anjo pigeon “Junglee Maas” with Mathania chilli and yoghurt sauce.
Pahli Hill is also known for its colourful decor with a relaxed ambience, and we’re hoping its venue in Riyadh will feature the same cheerily kitsch surroundings, filled with striking posters and artworks.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted as we find out more details closer to the launch date. Watch this space.
