Myazu Riyadh: Why this restaurant deserves to be revisited over and over
This popular household name offers a fantastic dining experience that combines the finesse of contemporary Japanese cuisine with a warm and inviting atmosphere…
Who doesn’t love Japanese food? Among the slews of Japanese restaurants that have opened in Riyadh, Myazu – located in the heart of Sulaimaniyah – truly revolutionises the way we appreciate sushi (because, mind you, not all maki are created equal). Plus, there’s a lot more to Japanese cuisine than stodgy California rolls.
Just ask anyone in Riyadh where to go when they’re looking to impress, and without fail, this restaurant’s name will come up again and again. The impressive menu of daring Japanese gastronomy is a masterclass in marrying timeless traditional techniques with inventive modern practices, and the result is a restaurant that rarely gets it wrong.
The creative menu, executed with finesse by Chef Ian Pengelley and his team, is what draws people here. But it’s the top-notch service and stunning setting that also keep them coming back time and again.
Happy 3rd Anniversary
Myazu celebrated its third anniversary early this month. As the restaurant opened in December 2020, amid the Coronavirus outbreak, turning three years old is significant because, without a doubt, opening a business during the pandemic can be short-lived.
However, Myazu is an exception, especially with the numerous awards received, such as Restaurant of the Year for the What’s On Riyadh Awards 2023 and ranking among the Middle East & North Africa’s (MENA) 50 Best Restaurants list for two consecutive years.
This milestone marks three years of its journey, exemplifying a story of ambition, quality, and culinary innovation. It also raises the restaurant’s profile as one of the capital’s most respected and favoured culinary destinations.
For the entire first weekend, diners partook in the grand revelry crafted exclusively for the anniversary. A pair of golden chopsticks was given to dining patrons in a design befitting the joyous occasion. In addition, complimentary dishes were served to guests enjoying meals at the restaurant.

Myazu is more than a Japanese restaurant; it’s a place where elevated food, great mocktails and warm hospitality congregate – all the right components you’d want in a rock-solid F&B establishment. And the commemoration of its third anniversary is a testament to its commitment to providing an extraordinary culinary experience.
Brilliant signature lunch menu
