Does it get more beautiful than running around Al Balad in the heart of Jeddah, surrounded by iconic landmarks and bustling markets? Mark your calendar for the Jeddah Historic Half Marathon, which will be held on Saturday March 2.
Experience the Unesco World Heritage Site with hundreds of other runners. The race will fittingly start at the historical gate of Bab Jadid at 6am.

The 21.1-kilometre route will take participants past Nassif House, where you’ll admire a breathtaking example of traditional Hijazi architecture. See the Al-Matbouli Museum, which delves into the city’s fascinating cultural heritage, and the Al-Juffali Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic design, as you run.
You’ll then continue to run a scenic route through King Fahd Fountain, a symbol of modern Jeddah’s vibrancy, and a bustling hub overlooking the picturesque Jeddah Corniche before crossing the finish line back at Bab Jadid.
The Jeddah Historic Half Marathon, available in four categories, is beginner-friendly and mostly flat.
The 21.1-kilometre half-marathon (SAR92) is open to participants aged 18 and above, while the 10-kilometre (SAR69) distance category is open to participants above 12. The 4-kilometre (SAR44.85) and 1-kilometre (SAR34.50) races are open to all ages, including children who must be accompanied by an adult.
Once you’ve completed the half marathon, head to the race village at Bab Jadid, where delights like family-friendly activations, food trucks, and live entertainment await.
