Since last Wednesday, there have been heavy rains, accompanied by large amounts of hail, which then resulted in many valleys being flooded with water.
According to the Saudi Press Authority, there are still chances of thunderstorms forming in most governorates of the Al-Jawf region, accompanied by strong winds, with a lack of horizontal visibility, hail, and torrents in the next few days.
Previously, the Civil Defence also issued a heavy rainfall warning via SMS, the text warns of rainfall and the potential for flooding in several regions of Saudi Arabia. Residents were told to take precautions, avoid areas prone to flooding, and follow safety guidelines released through various media channels
The Civil Defence has urged people to prioritise their safety and follow all instructions provided by the authorities. At the moment, it is unclear how long this period of rainy/snowy weather will last, but stay tuned to What’s On Saudi Arabia for the latest.
