The Riyadh Metro first opened its doors on Sunday December 1, 2024 and in the short few months that it’s been open has already welcomed more than 18 million passengers. This is the Riyadh Metro in numbers and the most popular Riyadh Metro station to date.
This totals to approximately 162,000 trips and a total distance of 4.5 million kilometres across its six lines.

The buzziest station to date is the King Abdullah Financial District station, which serves as a major hub for switching lines. The station, located on the eastern side of KAFD, will serve as a hub for the blue, yellow and violet lines. The gorgeous station was designed by Zahra Hadid, and is one of the biggest stations in the project.
The most popular line to date is the Blue Line, which runs between Al-Olaya and Al-Batha and has seen nearly 10 million passengers on board. The Riyadh Metro is the largest in the Middle East and the world’s longest driverless train system.
There are six main lines and 84 stations covering a distance of 176 kilometres. The Riyadh Metro network covers most of the highly populated districts, government facilities, and key educational and commercial areas.
