It’s coming up soon…
Saudi Arabia has urged Muslims to sight the crescent moon that would signal the start of the Muslim lunar month Dhul Hijjah tomorrow. While Eid A-Fitr is normally confirmed a day before, Eid Al-Adha’s crescent is sighted nearly two weeks before the day. This is what you need to know about the Eid Al-Adha 2025 crescent.
The Saudi Supreme Court requested that the actual spotting be done on Tuesday May 27, according to a Saudi Press Agency report on Sunday.

According to Al Arabiya, those who sight the crescent moon are asked to report to the nearest court and register their testimony.
The Hajj pilgrimage begins on the Dhul Hijjah 8 and lasts until Dhul Hijjah 13. On the Gregorian calendar, Hajj 2025 is expected to take place between June 4 to June 9.
When the crescent is sighted, it would also help finalize the date of Eid Al-Adha as it falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijjah. The Day of Arafat, which falls on the ninth of Dhu al-Hijjah, is expected to fall on June 5.
In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid Al-Adha falls on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah and lasts for three days. The holiday commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham) willingness to obey God by sacrificing his son. God then provided him with a lamb to sacrifice in his son’s place.
