New Saudi school curriculum: AI, cybersecurity, and more introduced

School’s in session

As we gear up for a brand-new academic year, the smell of new books, shoes, and outfits fills every nook and cranny of the household. And with it, the incredible new Saudi school curriculum.

The National Curriculum Centre has introduced an updated educational curriculum for the 2025-2026 academic year. Developed in line with Saudi Vision 2030 to align the educational process with contemporary changes and prepare a generation to be equipped with the skills and knowledge to compete in future fields.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the newly developed curriculum includes subjects like AI, cybersecurity, tourism, hospitality, fashion, art, design, and first aid. That’s not all, though.

The centre has also enhanced Chinese and English language teaching, in addition to developing a Quran teacher’s guide and a guide to learning areas for the kindergarten stage.

The new curriculum will be taught in conjunction with innovative teaching and assessment methods to match the pace of global developments in education and training. The goal is to provide students with broader opportunities to discover their abilities and develop their future skills.

Developed in partnership with relevant ministries and entities, the new study plans and curricula emphasise the integration of tools in education.

The new Saudi school curriculum aims to encourage critical and creative thinking and prioritise early education by developing resources for the kindergarten and early childhood stages.

Relevant guidance manuals for teachers have also been prepared to ensure top-tier quality education for all groups. Through partnerships with the private sector, the centre is also working to enrich educational content by licensing international curricula.
