Celebrity hotspot Katsuya is set to make its way to Riyadh this year

American burger chain Umami Burger will also be opening its doors…

Sbe Hospitality group has announced plans to collaborate with UAE-based Bulldozer Group to launch two of its best exports in the Kingdom. Katsuya and Umami Burger are both set to open in Riyadh later this year.

Katsuya already has a host of outposts around the world, and is well-loved by some of the biggest names in showbiz. Famed for its authentic Japanese cuisine, the restaurant is a favourite among many thanks to its extensive sushi offering.

Katsuya already has five locations in the Middle East, including Dubai, Kuwait, Doha and Bahrain. With other popular locations in Los Angeles, Hollywood, London, The Bahamas and more.

For now, a location hasn’t been decided but it’s understood that the new restaurants will initially launch in Riyadh, before expanding into Jeddah and Dammam. Bulldozer plans to work in conjunction with Sbe to source the best venues for each brand.

Umami Burger has 28 locations globally, after originating in the USA in 2009. The brand is popular for its all American gourmet style hamburgers, as well as a wide range of other snacks including delicious truffle fries.

Sam Nazarian, founder and CEO of sbe, said: “We are incredibly proud to bring two of our award-winning brands, Katsuya and Umami Burger to Saudi Arabia and to continue our global expansion of these brands. I am especially excited to partner with my longtime friend, Evgeny Kuzin and collaborate with his well-established company, Bulldozer Group.”
