Saudi citizens and residents who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 are not allowed to use public transportation and enter government and private offices.
As stated in Gulf Business, with effect from August 1, 2021, vaccination would be obligatory for those who wish to attend sporting and entertainment events, participate in cultural activities, and enter various private and public establishments and facilities.

The Tawakkalna application will continue to be used as proof of vaccination to check the immunisation status of citizens and residents.
In addition, Saudi’s ministries of health and education will agree to define the age group of students who will be allowed to resume in-person learning at educational institutions across the country.
On Monday, May 17, the government permitted citizens immunised against Covid-19 to travel abroad. Furthermore, starting today, all travellers arriving in the Kingdom, who have not received the Covid-19 vaccine, are subject to seven days of mandatory institutional quarantine.
All procedures and measures are subject to continuous evaluation by the Public Health Authority (Weqaya). Therefore, everyone needs to adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures and not be complacent in applying health requirements, including social distancing, wearing a face mask, and continuously disinfecting hands, and compliance with the approved protocols.
More than 12 million coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered, and the Kingdom aims to reach at least 80 per cent immunity among the population through vaccination.
As of May 20, there is a total of 437,569 Covid-19 infections in Saudi Arabia, including 8,629 active cases and 1,330 new cases.
