Dough Shack Burger

Not your typical burger, but the bun at Dough Shack Burger is brave and brilliant. Forget the artisanal brioche or sourdough. Here, the patty is wrapped in a sort of like a slightly upgraded sesame seed dough pastry, and it’s baked in the oven. It holds up to the meaty patty a little better, and the bun’s texture is flakier than any of the other buns. This makes for plenty of space for the juices to get soaked up. The Swiss mushroom burger comes highly recommended.

This little burger joint started slinging its perfectly cooked sliders in May 2021. Burgers on burnt dough buns, baked using the Josper charcoal grill oven, are served here, with scrumptious sides like the Wagyu croquette puffs with shitake jam and crispy kale. The cheese melt burger and the roast beef burger are hard to pass up, but there’s plenty on offer if you’re famished. Despite the size, they boast big, bold flavours, thanks to the freshest local produce.

There’s something for everyone at Kactus. Their signature burger on their menu, the Korean fried chicken, consists of a crispy patty, Gochujang sauce, kimchi slaw, sweet pickles and dills, and lettuce on a freshly baked bun. That’s one burger we can’t wait to try.
